Poseidon Energy

Poseidon Energy

Central Strategy

• To identify, contract, construct and run a platform of energy projects with an annual production of over 2000 GW and installed capacity of 500 MW before 2017.

• Hydroelectric power currently provides over 20% of the world's electricity. Consumption of electricity is expected to double by 2030, primarily in developing countries, which is where unused hydro development potential still exists.

• Renewability and environmental friendliness remain the main motive to support Hydro power projects over Thermal power projects or Nuclear power projects. In Albania, Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia HEP potential developments could provide over 85% of electricity domestic requirements.

• Poseidon is focused on Run of the River (ROR) HEP. The EU requires its members to source 20% of its power from renewable sources by 2020. Utilities and grids need hydro projects to maintain grid efficiency. Central and Southeast Europe have significant undeveloped potential. The majority of countries in Southeast Europe have joined or are joining the EU and a free trade agreement managed by the EU covering the regional grid is already in existence.
